ORIGIN
01
From a group chat to a movement.
During COVID, while the world was on pause, a few of us linked up on Twitch and Discord. Strangers in voice chats that ran past sunrise. Late-night streams. Friends made through games and a love for the grind.
That's how BGN was born. Not from a pitch deck. Not from a marketing plan. From a group chat that wouldn't quit.
After a year of hanging together, we figured out we shared more than games. We shared the hustle. The grind. The same questions about how to turn what we love into how we live.
“CREATIVITY HITS HARDER IN COMMUNITY“
From day one, BGN was about lifting up the voices the gaming industry was sleeping on. Gamers, streamers, artists, and content creators from NYC and beyond, working together instead of grinding alone.
MISSION
02
BGN is where ADULT GAMERS, STREAMERS, AND CREATIVES turn their CRAFT into hustle. Together.
Meet the Team
How we got from there to here.
The group chat that started it all
A small circle of NYC gamers and creators find each other on Twitch and Discord during lockdown. BGN is born out of late nights, shared streams, and the feeling that nobody else was building this for us.
Showing up IRL
Quarantine loosens. We meet in person for the first time. BGN starts hosting meetups at local nonprofits and bars, content creator collabs, and community events across the Bronx.
Building beyond Discord
In partnership with The DreamYard Project, BGN helps launch BX Start, a gamer and maker space in the Bronx that now functions as a Design Space. We launch our Twitch Academy for new content creators and our Gamer Sitters program, bringing gaming clubs into NYC schools.
the pivot
We rest. We reflect. We realize our work hits hardest with adults. Parents, working creatives, older folks who love gaming but never saw themselves in this sector. BGN becomes a home for grown people who still play.
Trail Ahead
We co-sponsor our first major fighting game tournament with We Game Culture. Run a 4-day toy drive that pulls in 40 toys for kids. Throw cash-prize online tournaments in Marvel Rivals and Peak. Invest $2K+ into local competitive play. Send our first two players to Combo Breaker, repping BGN in Street Fighter 6. Members start landing client work together.
BGN Hub
We built this site. Launched our first apparel line and a hand-designed sticker series with profit share for the artists. Ran our first professional photo shoot using community models. We're a production crew now. Members teach in schools, run corporate events, open community tech spaces around the city. Bronx-born. Members in 5+ states and 3 countries.
Pull up to the Discord. Catch us at an event. Follow on Instagram. Wear the merch.
We're not hard to find.
